As Obama ‘madness’ reaches fever pitch…autobiographies and books containing collections of Obama’s speeches, fly off the shelves.
Now, according to a well placed source, in excess of 100,000 copies of Obama’s books sold between 3rd & 9th November –that’s 100,00 copies people, in a mere 3 days!!!
On top of that, Obama has been utilising the phenomenon that is YouTube. He will be making his weekly radio addresses available online and he will be posting videos featuring him, regularly too!
So, all Obama fans (which seems to be just about everyone right now), remember, you can now acquire fix, via the internet – faboooooooooooo!

So, that’s the ‘White House’ bit, what’s been happening in good old ‘celebville’?

Well, Kanye has been promoting his latest album (released today), ‘808’s and Heartbreak’.
Whilst speaking to a well know website, Kanye admitted that he has only just been able to talk openly about his mothers passing.
He was quoted to have said, ‘I didn’t do any interviews when my mom passed, I wasn’t ready to speak about it, now I would rather talk it through than commit suicide. I’m super devastated’! So sad!

Kanye also believes his fame is part of the reason for her death, he feels he is partially to blame. He said, ‘If I’d never made it in the music business, it never would’ve happened’!
Wow…that actually burns to read that, to know someone is not only dealing with a loss, but is also dealing with the fact they believe they had something to do with the death…………that is hard!
Having fairly recently split from his long term girlfriend as well, Kanye went on to explain, that it gets lonely at the top without a mother or a partner. He admitted he was depressed and sought solace through the recording studio and making his music!
He also gives thanks to those celebs that helped him through….

Personally, I hope its all upward from here for Kanye, love him or loathe him, you pay attention to him. He has a lot to say and makes some serious music (even if it does take a while to get his angle sometimes lol) – Once Christmas is out the way, lets hope its ‘Happy Days’ for Mr West!

On to another celeb that deserves a standing ovation for her strength – Jennifer Hudson!
After loosing her mother, brother and nephew in an act of what can only be described as, ‘senseless violence’ back in October, Jennifer is still holding on and remaining strong.
Jennifer has used her MySpace page as a way of publically thanking everyone for their support.
In the posting she said, ‘My sister and I take great comfort and strength from your love and concern’.
I have nothing but admiration for this lady and I continue to hold her and her family in my prayers during this difficult time!

Brandy has spoken out about her ‘highway ordeal’ in which, a driver was killed!
Brandy admitted during an interview that she still carries around the guilt of knowing she was involved in the unfortunate death of another.
Although Brandy was in her Land Rover which crashed into a car triggering off a chain reaction that caused another driver to career into the other lane, she says she felt hurt when people out right blamed her. She is quoted to have said, ‘I just feel like a lot of people jumped on it because it was something to talk about…they made up their own stories and started finger pointing’.
Not a good look eh?
Brandy now faces a $50 million lawsuit for wrongful death by the victim’s family – the trial is due to begin April 2009.
In more light hearted news…the rumour mill has decided Brandy and Tyrese MUST be an item!
Tyrese has been quick to bang us to rights and has said. ‘I would never date her; it would be like dating my sister’!!!Ok Tyrese, if that’s the case, please explain why you felt it necessary to try and act like y’all weren’t lunching together if you are just mates?????????? Puuuuuuuuuuuurlease!!!!
More interestingly, apparently Tyrese is married!!!! Ponder that for a second………..Now move on! LOL

Prince has made the headlines this week – apparently he is being sued because he has not helped to market his perfume 3121.
The makers of the perfume have claimed, they spent $2.5 million on the fragrance and agreed to pay Universal half the profits made as part of the agreement…..looks to me like the situation is being to smell a bit….I wonder if Prince can come through this smelling sweet? After all, he is known to cause a bit of a whiff!!!! Boom Boom lolololol

Wow, it’s not a good look Lisa Bonet’s baby fadda!
Apparently he was slashed, yes…slashed across the face with a broken bottle during a bar brawl….ooooooooooooooooouch!
140 stitches and re constructive surgery was needed to restore the ‘face’, subsequently, the guy who got his pram out has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm.
Oooer, lets hope the stress doesn’t send Ms Bonet into an early labour!!!!

Phew…now I got that off my chest….wow what a result eh??? I’ve been like, AWOL for nearly 2 weeks but one thing is for certain, Obama is officially in de house (well not literally yet) but you know….Obama is the new president of the USA – how fantastic…. This is history y’all – note it down…. Make a note, your grandkids will be asking what you did on the day the first Black President became President – it is a day to remember….this is representative of change – no doubt!
For Black, White, and Asian….whatever colour, race or creed….this is what we have been waiting for…can I get a Hallelujah!!!!

Celebs have been out in full force showing their appreciation and approval for Obama.
Oprah Winfrey herself had to hold back the tears at the victory rally in Grant Park, Chicago. She was noted to have said, ‘I was so, so, so excited and then just sort of a calm came over me, it feels like it actually is kind of real, so it feels great’!
She declared, ‘This is democracy at its finest’!
Other celebs including Kanye West, saluted Obama. Kanye even posted a blog saying, ‘Hi Mom, Obama Won’!
Ethane Hawke, claimed, ‘I haven’t had this much optimism in a long time’!
George Clooney congratulated Obama and said, ‘Now its time to begin unifying the country’.
It has been announced that approximately 78.6million people tuned in to the Election on November 4th…..that’s a whole lot of people…

I am personally sooooo completely chuffed... Big Up Barack….lol

By the way…it didn’t take long before ‘dissville’ enrolled a new member….Michelle Obama!
Apparently, Michelle has been slated by fashion critics, the crime…..her dress!!!
Now…I’m not gonna jump on the band wagon on this one because I don’t think it was that bad.
Michelle was described as, ‘wearing a black cardigan over a scoop-neck black sheath with splashes of red in the upper and lower half separated by a band of black at the hips’!
Admittedly, the above description is not the best!!
FYI The outfit was a slightly modified version of a Narcisco Rodriguez designer dress.
According to some of the Obama staff members, Michelle does not use a personal stylist and in fact, the times paid her a compliment by stating, ‘Certainly her style is a departure from the starchy attire that first ladies historically favoured’.
So….I think, although she may have got it slightly wrong… or could have done it a bit better…I think its safe to say, it seems as though there will be some serious ‘style cutting’ in the White House!

And….the Obama daughters have also got a ‘bring in’ already….apparently, they are tipped to appear on popular Disney show, ‘Hannah Montana’…..

Beyonce has come forward and announced she was offered a mad amount of money for the exclusive rights to her wedding photos.
She said ‘it’s so not worth it’!
I mean to be fair Beyonce, with the amount of cash you already have….er yeah….it probably aint worth it to you – lol
She also went on to say, ‘We worked really hard at keeping g it private’…..erm…both of y’all as famous as you are????? Keeping that private, was verging on the impossible!!!!

Anyway, her album, ‘I am…Sasha Fierce is due out tomorrow (Tuesday 18th November) but is currently available to listen to in its entirety on MySpace.

From Beyonce to Rihanna…y’all get the connection lol…
Rihanna caused a bit of a stir when she ran off stage during a concert the other night.
Apparently, during a rendition of Umbrella, Rihanna doubled over in pain and ran off the stage holding her stomach.

Her rep has issued a statement claiming she is fine…. let’s hope so!

So the rumour mill is churning again, this time it is rumoured that Michael Jackson may well be considering doing a stint of dates at the O2 arena in London. A source claims there is an offer open to Michael and all he has to do is accept it.
Who knows…in the next few, ole Mijac could be hitting our shores…..that will be one gig I do NOT miss lol..
And…speaking of Michael Jackson, ‘Thriller Live’ opens in London’s West End early 2009.
The show is a touring musical celebration of Michael Jackson and his career.
Anyone that loves Michael…..this is definitely a ‘must see’!
So make a note, if you are in the London area at the beginning of next year…..get yourself one of the hottest tickets in town and make a meal of it….

From Michael to Janet (naturally)….Janet has been talking to Sister2Sister magazine about starting a family with long term partner, Jermaine Dupri.
Janet believes, it will happen when it is meant to and says, Jermaine is ready it is just her holding things up!
Not being funny, its all well and good procrastinating about the right time to have a baby when you are in your twenties/thirties but when you are in your forties….no disrespect intended….you have to take note of that all important biological clock that is steadily ticking away…..do you see what I am saying?
I mean its not like they are financially strapped so what’s the hold up? Come on Janet….get to poppin out those babies….the time is now!!!! LOL

What’s this about the Cheetah girls eh?
Well…..photos of Adrienne Bailon (one of the Cheetah girls) have found there way on to the internet…not just any photos – these ones were nude!
Apparently after loosing her laptop an anonymous phone call was received attempting to blackmail the record label.
Fast forward a couple of days…news breaks that it seems as though it was all for publicity…why? I’m not sure…I mean, is she bringing an album out or something? What? Lol
Joke tings!

Finally, Suge Knight is suing Kanye West as a result of getting shot!
Not only is Suge suing him but he is also claiming, Kanye is liable for his 15 carat diamond stud earring that also when missing at the same time.
Even though Suge is bankrupt, he has managed to negotiate a deal which will allow him to pocket a percentage from any compensation received from the suit.

Sorry….just let me get my head around this….Suge Knight…bankrupt? When did this happen?
Dang, I thought the dood was loaded?????

Howdy….what’s crackin’? How’s it goin’? Hope all is well…!

Another week, yep – yet that’s right - another week has gone by and we are officially into the month of November which by my calculations leaves less than 2 month before CHRISTMAS!!!! Aaaaaaaaargh – I hear you say lol.
The weather is getting colder by the minute but, fear not – your weekly dose of celeb goss, is bound to warm you up!

Well first off I just want to express my sincerest condolences to Jennifer Hudson and her family in light of what can only be described as a horrific nightmare!
In case you did not already know, the mother, brother and nephew of Jennifer have been murdered!
The police have detained the ex husband of Jennifer’s sister as a possible suspect and they have identified a possible motive as being, centred round missing car payments.

A candlelight vigil was held earlier on in the week outside the home where the bodies of the mother and brother were found.

The vigil attracted people in their masses and they all sang songs including a rendition of Jennifer’s current single 'Spotlight'.
Sheesh – it’s just so sad!
Even the American idol judges expressed their sadness over Jennifer’s loss.
Promotion of Jennifer’s new film, ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ has been postponed as well as an open casting call at the Apollo Theatre for the 2009 national tour of Dreamgirls. The casting has been rescheduled for the end of November out of respect.

Jennifer has set up her own charity that is designed to help families of murder victims called the ‘Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims'.
The family have released statement saying, ‘The specific purpose of the foundation is to care for the needs of families who have lost relatives to a violent crime’.

I have to say, words fail me when it comes to commenting on the whole tragedy. I think is so sad and so unfair!
I just hope, Jennifer finds the strength to carry on and long may God continue to help her through this difficult time.

Moving on slightly, Janet Jackson is apparently feeling a lot better.

The Rock Witchu tour has resumed and Janet thanked fans, via a short video clip, for all their well wishes and support whilst she was ‘sick’.

Although the concerts may be ‘rolling’ again, Janet suffered another set back. LL Cool J announced he had quit the tour due to ‘scheduling conflicts’!!!
Hmmmm, not sure I’m buying that one….
Anyways, it seems as though no replacement has been drafted in to cover LL – but the show goes on….
Well sort of anyway, Janet has had to cut a ‘sexy’ segment from her concert in Detroit. This was done in compliance with Michigan state law.
The segment that was ‘cut’ featured Janet taking a male fan from the audience, tying him down and ‘molesting’ him whilst her dances proceed to mime various sexual acts including masturbation!
Ooooooer – the thought!


From one Jackson to the other…..
Jermaine Jackson has confirmed there will be a Jackson 5 reunion tour.
He has also said, both Michael and Janet will be on board – whoooooooooop – where’s my ticket?
Jermaine went on to say, ‘This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family’.
Oh yes indeedy, it sure has!
He continued, ‘It is going to be a more like a family affair, Janet’s going to open and of course, the original Jackson 5….Michael, Randy and the whole family’…..
So…remember where you heard it – the Jackson 5 reunion tour featuring Janet….well well well, I’m sure that will be a concert worth watching – whadya tink?

And speaking of the Jacksons and concerts, Michael is currently planning a 30 date world tour which will allegedly begin in 2009.
Apparently Michael wants to do this tour so his kids can see what he does.
Uhmmmm…. I have a feeling it’s gonna be one of those cringe-worthy moments for his kids I mean, lets face it – who wants to see their ‘dad’ dance????? Even if he is the King of pop… lolololololol

Lil Wayne is as happy as Larry right now – he announced the arrival of his new baby boy during a performance at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse concert in New Jersey.
He gave the crowd all the details including the fact he was there throughout the whole thing (lean off now doubt – lol).
He said, ‘It was nasty, very nasty but it was wonderful’. – Such a wonderful description eh…. Nasty yuh nuh lol
The baby was named Dwayne Michael Carter III (naturally) and weighed in around 7lbs 12 oz – aaaaaaaaaaaaw sweet – nice weight!
Lil Wayne stated, ‘He’s the best thing that ever happened to me, next to my daughter’.
So beautiful huh?

If you are a Common fan, you will be pleased to know his new album is scheduled to drop in December which will make the release date 5 months later than anticipated!
Even though it’s later than advertised, I am sure it will be well worth the wait – 2 of the songs off the album have already been released. ‘Announcement’ and ‘Universal Mind Control’ are hoooooooooooot. I personally prefer Universal Mind Control its biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig – I’ve been playing it like crazy, love it – if you haven’t already done so, check it out!
A few other changes have been made on the album (so if you got a boot leg – its back to the supplier for you haw haw).
Kanye West is now featured on one of the tracks and a few instrumental changes have been made to a couple of tracks.
So, keep your eyes and ears peeled for that one!

Mos Def has been working on album too! February 9th is the date set aside to release ‘The Ecstatic’!
The album will be released via the label, ‘Downtown' and the first single, ‘Life in Marvelous Times’ will be available on iTunes from Tuesday 4th Nov.

Usher is already setting his sights on another album. I mean, dam - there is still tremendous heat surrounding the current album ‘Here I Stand’ but, I guess, an artist is an artist.
Although he is just about to embark on his ‘One Night Stand Ladies Only’ tour, he has declared the next album will be a ‘worldwide entertainment experience’. Oooooo sounds promising…. Worldwide entertainment experience eh? Sounds like a brand new LCD with all the trimmings, complete with built in DVD and Sky box plus extras…dontcha think????? LOL
No seriously, Usher has said, there are so many artists he would like to work with overseas and that he would like to try new things so I guess, from that perspective, it will be just that – a ‘worldwide entertainment experience’ – GO URSH!

Beyonce or shall I say ‘Sasha’ is back up in Celebville again this week – this time she upstaged 3 big acts!
Hubby Jay-Z, Neyo and Lil Wayne were all left dumbstruck when Bey took the stage in true diva fashion.
Complete in all black, she stormed the stage with 2 backing dancers during Jay-Z’s set (because I guess there would have been uproar if she had reigned on anyone else’s parade lol).
Without uttering or indeed singing, a word – she and her dancers performed the routine from her new track ‘Single Ladies’, flashed her massive wedding ring and bopped off the stage!
Gobsmacked? Understatement! LOL

In other Beyonce related news, she has spoken up about an article that claimed she almost suffered a nervous breakdown.
Beyonce insists she was misquoted and says, ‘I wouldn’t say I was on the verge of a breakdown. That’s a very strong thing to say’.
However, she went on to say, ‘Maybe I have been before’.
So people, its not a completely fabricated story – I mean lets face it, the amount that girl does, I think the average person would have had ‘several’ breakdowns by now!!!! :o(

Mariah, Mariah, Mariah….
This week Mariah Carey has decided to turn into Lil Ms Advice!
She has been offering up suggestions to female stars on how to exit a car without exposing your ‘nether’ regions to all and sundry! (I can name several stars off the top of my head that could benefit immensely from this…)
Anyway, Mariah says, ‘You lead with the leg, place the hand down and then you’re up. Hopefully somebody is standing in front of you then you proceed to walk’!
So, it’s as simple as that – I guess the key thing here is, ensure there is someone in front of you especially after you’ve necked a few as all sense of awareness goes completely down the pan!
But hey, thanks for the advice Mariah :o)

‘Chocolicious’ crooner Joe Thomas has showcased his new album aptly named ‘New Man’ at a release party hosted by his manager of 15 years….Kedar Massenburg.
During the party, Joe performed singles off the new album and worked himself into a bit of a sweaty state – Joe had to remove his shirt which no doubt got the ladies going.
I have to say, I personally have had the privilege of witnessing this ‘phenomenon’ first hand lol
At Joe’s album release party in London, it was a similar scenario, sing a couple of tracks, get sweaty then remove the shirt – brilliant formula I must say!!!!
Anyways, (phew) besides being the number 1 independent CD in the country (Joe is now independent), the CD was also number 3 on the top 5 Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop albums amongst other ratings.
Joe gave an amazing performance and reminded those, that may have forgotten – just how fantastic he is – oh and what a beautiful voice he has lol
People, Joe Thomas is back, he’s independent and he’s ‘chocolicious’ – if you haven’t already copped that album – get it, trust me!

Finally, can anyone remember the movie the Last Dragon?
Well if you can, you will be pleased to know, Samuel L Jackson will be starring as ‘Sho Nuff’ in the remake coming to a screen near you soon!
If you can’t remember it – or have simply never heard of it, the Last Dragon is a cult classic. The film is centred around a young martial arts student called Leroy who goes on a mission to become the greatest fighter alive and posses the ‘glow’.
Think Streetfighter…Tekken – that kind of thing…..it’s a goodie!

First off – well done to Mel in Acton and Farah in Luton for winning copies of 'The Little Book of Calm' during my show on Friday 31st October (Halloween oooooooooooo lol).

The competition was based around the following book review:

The little book of calm is aimed at counteracting stress.
It does exactly what it says.
Although it is small in size and does not contain a lot of words, the words it does use definitely hold the secrets to being calm!

Right from the cover of the book, you instantly sense calm.
The clouds and pale colour scheme encapsulate all what the book is about.

It is rich in emotional wisdom with words and phrases designed to empower the reader.

In its text, there are lots of practical suggestions including ideas such as learning how to 'remove' yourself from the pressure that is causing the stress. In other words, rebuke the stress - do not allow it!

There are over 150 simple tips that can help almost anyone to be calm.
Effective tips such as, the use of a soft voice as opposed to bellowing is one.
