WTF????????

Wow! Here we go again… a second rant in 2 days???

This time it is aimed at a story that is featured in The Sun newspaper today!

Please click the link below to understand my anguish:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2399352.ece

Firstly I want to know exactly what this woman is doing that makes her ‘too busy’ to feed her children properly?
Apparently she is on benefits so please…. Someone enlighten me to her busy schedule – or am I just being ignorant???

I mean no disrespect intended, but has she looked in the mirror lately????
If she did, she would see the reason why, eating junk food is a no no! She is a walking heart attack (God forbid for her kids’ sake).

I mean it is crazy… kids rely on their parents to feed them and subsequently, help them to develop in the right way.

This woman is doing nothing but setting these kids up for problems in later life.

It goes deeper than it just being morally wrong…in fact it has been proven that allowing kids to eat junk food at such a young age can put them at higher risk of developing various diseases in later life which include; diabetes, cancer, heart disease as well as being susceptible to kidney failure, obesity and bone disease.

Is this woman serious?

She says, when she doesn’t give them junk food, she cooks them (or rather heats up) food in the microwave.
Don’t get me wrong, in my opinion there is nothing wrong with using the microwave to heat up food but to cook a child’s meal as an alternative to a take out???? What about cooking from scratch????? Or is that too much because she is too busy??

I think the best paragraph (for what it is worth) in the article is:

Leanne steers away from healthy foods in case it makes her tots anorexic. She said: “I don’t want them to think they have to watch what they eat. I’ll tell them big is beautiful.”

What a joke!
There are soooooo many things wrong in that paragraph I don’t even wanna get started!
Cor blimey……!
I really think there needs to be some kind of intervention here…. This is not right!!!

The Baby @ Nandos!

Wow, this lil rant is oh so necessary!
I would love for someone to justify to me, why you would give a baby a knife to play with?????!!!!

OK, let me explain the scenario – yesterday, we decided to go to Nandos… we were just finishing up and a family of 4, occupied the table behind us.
The family comprised of mom, dad, big brother and baby brother (presumably).

As you may or may not know, once you have ordered your food at the counter @ Nandos, you then take a seat and wait for your food to be brought to you at your table.

Well this particular family were waiting for their food when the baby (who was initially in the child seat), decided sitting in the seat was far to boring and in fact, wanted to be on the table…that’s right – on the table!!!! Mom put the baby on the table!

Naturally, being on the table wasn’t enough for the baby who then decided he wanted to play with the salt and pepper shakers!
Mom and Dad were looking in the opposite direction to the baby, almost in an attempt to pretend to ignore his embarrassing antics.

Eventually, the salt and pepper shakers got boring so he flung them on the floor!
Mom and Dad still acted like nothing was going on whilst big brother scrambled on the floor picking them up.

Meanwhile, baby has decided to fart around with the paper napkins and is throwing them all over the place, ripping them, chewing them – you name it, he was doing it…again Mom and Dad did not respond.

It was only when baby decided to pick up one of the plates (you know the bright ones you pick up with your knives and forks)???

Baby was banging this plate around for sometime before Mom (who actually had her hand behind him all this time), decided to react.
After a ‘mini’ struggle, she finally got the plate off him and as a result, he went into O.V.E.R.D.R.I.V.E!!!
Lemme tell you, the child freeeeeeeaked started banging the other plates around and just acting really bizarre, spoilt and just ….well…. different!

Whilst baby had his moment, Mom and Dad pretended that they weren’t with the child yet again =(

After maybe, 3 minutes of constant banging, wailing, whinging and screeching all mixed up, he became fascinated with the cutlery on the table.

Firstly he picked up the knife… my instinct was to say something but when I noticed the elder boy telling his parents, I decided not to (keep me nose out).

They took one look at the baby and turned away…why??? Because he was actually quiet!

He put the knife down after inspecting it then he picked up the fork. He started inspecting that then picked the knife up again.
He continued to play with both of them – dangerously might I add – bare in mind this was a baby like no older than 1!
Then, to my horror – he flung the fork, just missed someone behind and continued to play with the knife making stabbing gestures and waving it around.

As you can probably imagine, my jaw was on the floor!!!!!

The thing that made it so bad was, the parents just didn’t business – they were more interested in him keeping quiet.
The baby clearly ruled them.

It was sad and disturbing,

A one year old knife wielding maniac – well…..what next!!!!!!

I just don’t get it!!!

Phew!!!! Rant over….tee hee

1963 They Had a Dream...A New Musical by YPTC REVIEW!

Absolutely brilliant! That is how I would describe the theatre production I had the privilege of going to see on Saturday.

1963 They Had a Dream was a new musical by the Young Persons Theatre Company (YPTC).

The play was performed at the Cochrane Theatre down there in Holborn London and let me tell you, if you did not get to see it – you truly missed out!

Prior to the show, I had Alexandra and Fiona (2 members of the YPTC) join me on my chat show last week.

The subject was on interracial dating which tied in so perfectly with the story line of the production.

We spoke about the production in detail and of course the difficulties some of the actors and actresses faced when delving into the past to prepare for their roles.

The play which was set in 1963, dealt with a lot of racial tension and as the YPTC is such a diverse group of people that include a variety of races and cultures across the board, and they found some of the facts pretty unnerving.

We continued to discuss how the play would open the eyes of some people and in fact help the majority of people to understand and appreciate just how far things have moved on since those times.

During the show, we had another special guest who was of mixed parentage.

She came through to give her opinion on interracial relationships and how she felt to be mixed race.

So, the play I hear you cry!

Well as I said, the play was fantastic….

The vision for the play was born out of the director’s belief that equality is important.

Back in the 1960’s (which was when the play was set), the voices of those that dared to dream of a tolerant society, were often drowned out and unheard.

Around this time, Martin Luther King made his famous ‘I have a Dream’ speech which revealed his dream of a world where one was ‘no longer judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character’.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbUtL_0vAJk&feature=player_embedded

This play, captured this ‘time’ perfectly.

The play was set in London and was centred round a young West Indian immigrant called Jacob Kane and an English girl called Cathy Palmer.

Jacob met and fell in love with Cathy, who was the daughter of a gangster (based loosely on the Krays).

They both knew because of their differences – things would be hard.

They believed the love they had for each other was enough to get them through but their friends and families saw it differently.

When Jacob’s sister Anna discovered Cathy was not West Indian, there was an emotional exchange of words which dealt with the underlying issue that racism derives from fear. One of Anna’s relatives had fallen in love with a white women and was subsequently beaten up, left blind in one eye and physically handicapped.

Anna feared the same would happen to her beloved brother Jacob.

On Cathy’s side, first she had to deal with racism from her work colleagues, based on ignorance, and then a betrayal by a so called friend who went and told her dad that her boyfriend was black!

Her dad would not stand for any of it and initially offered Jacob money to stay away from her but when he refused, the dad knew he had to resort to desperate measures.

The story unfolds and as Jacob and Cathy show resilience to the disapproval from those around them, both sides are forced to re-examine their beliefs.

The play ends in an unexpected but expected way if you catch my drift….

It was great!

The acting was incredible and so very believeable.

In parts it was emotional – it was definitely a rollercoaster ride which made me realise how lucky we are to be living in the society we live in today.

OK there are certain things that could be changed and of course, whilst there are differences there will always be racism but… to see and understand what it was, makes you know – its not that bad!

Massive shout out to all the cast and crew that made the production such a special one, oh and thanks for the mention in the programme muah!

Ooo eck, I am like, more than tired I am FINISHED! I feel about as awake as David Blaine after 2 nights in snake filled coffin!!!Seriously, all I want to do is sleep but guess what….?
I am stuck here at work – kmt, work smurk man – my goodness, what I would give to leave now….any good excuses – holla (joke).

I was tired yesterday too – this probably has something to do with the fact that I have literally been burning the candle at both ends, BUT, I found enough energy to get down to the sounds of Anthony Hamilton at the IndigoO2 last night.

Man, what a show….. the dood was on top form!
He was singing, dancing…sheeesh, man was performing yo!
See this is the difference, you get some artists that take the stage, sing then come off – then you get others that sing, get down and give you a night to remember…. The latter was Anthony.

Dressed in wears he referred to as ‘English clothes’, he looked uber comfy up there.
To finish off the ensemble, he donned a rather fetching trilby (if I dare say so myself).
He definitely looked the part – a regular, round the way type of guy – no gimmicks you know?!

It was clear from the get go, Anthony came to paaaaaaarlay – his interaction with the audience was brilliant and at one stage he even got into the crowd!
Yup that’s right, he came clean off the stage and breezed through the crowd singing…. you can imagine how the crowd went wild lol
The whole ‘getting in with the crowd’ did make me start to wonder whether Michael Jackson would get down like that lololololol

Anyways, back to Anthony…
So he smacked it and the backing singers……quality!
Listen, if you heard …..my gosh…if you heard the BV’s….
The BV’s alone would have given a good performance, so that coupled with the exquisetly, southern, sensual sound of Anthony…. well come on – use your imagination guys!

The show was fabbu!

He performed loads of tracks – the set was over one and half hours!
He crooned his way through Pass Me Over, ripped it with Charlene, absolutely got everyone bubblin’ with I’m Cool and finished up a perfect set with the perfect track, Everybody!!!
Whatta night…..!

I think it is safe to say, when you go and see an artist live, your perception of them either becomes better or worsens…with Anthony I can categorically say, people rated him more after that performance believe me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Play.com and iTunes sales of Anthony Hamilton joints went up tremendously today….!

Just reading back, you can tell I thoroughly enjoyed myself can’t you???? LOL

Buuuuuuuuut, what I would love right now is for my boss to come over to me and say, ‘why don’t you take the rest of the afternoon off’'?

Fat chance of that though huh…..anyways, better bounce – jobsworth is back in the office!!!!!

See ya soon x

Oh mi gawwwwwwwwwsh I feel restless – stuck here at work and I just wanna ska-reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem….argh!
Anyone feel me on that? LOL
I am not quite sure what to do with myself so I thought, lets write a blog – me and my mate just came back from lunch (well around an hour ago) and since then, I’m like sooooooo freakin wired!!!

The wickedest thing is I haven’t touched anything Caffeine related….. then again, wait – I did have a sneaky drop of Coca-cola, surely that is not enough to get me like this…..is it???

Tell ya wot, Subway sandwiches are officially the ‘Bombdiggy’!!!! Wohoooo, that sarnie got ‘murked’, I mean it tasted so good I was almost screwing I only got a 6in instead of a footer (sandwich people, sandwich).

Well my new best friend (not) aka, ‘Grass on people that have lives’ isn’t in today – in fact I haven’t seen her all week!
Doubt it’s got anything to do with the ridicule she underwent last week at the hands of me and my partner in crime but probably more to do with the fact that she is a blimmin, grassin’ skivver!!!!
I mean, without getting into the girls bizz too much, since we have been back from Christmas, my gyal has been off more than she has been in and she has the nerve to grass on me about my phone????? The cheek of it!!!!
Sorry guys, I know I’m proper going on about the phone business but I just can’t let it go – I just think the whole situation is uber sad!! Grrrrr…

It’s funny because, earlier on, me and a couple of my colleagues were sitting there really tryna figure out one of our other colleagues’ age…. The thing is, she actually comes across quite young but the wrinkles…well – put it this way…plain and simple…they frig it all up – so based on the wrinkles, we predicted she must be in the latter stages of life.
I was practically being bullied into finding out this woman’s real age and to be quite honest with ya, because I knew what my motive was, every opportunity I had to ask her, I copped it – blatantly….still working on it tho – cant take the heat lolololol

So Mr Obama is in town for the G20 summit eh? Well guess who stole the show??? That’s right…his missus!
Living up to the standard she inadvertently set for herself, Michelle Obama graced UK shores looking pretty dapper!
She turned up for brekkie in a blingin cream cardi and a green pencil skirt.
You know, you really have to give this woman some credit…check it – cardi complete with diamante? On a Presidents missus???? Who would have thought??? Good on ya Mich…….!

What else is of interest??? Uhmmmm oooo, uhmmmm – well I have just over 2 hours left in this place, gonna go online and play noughts and crosses or sumink LOL
Anything but work! (Joke….)

I suppose I better sign off, judging by the empty sound that resonates through the office - to do some work would probably be a good thing.
I tell ya, sometimes I do wonder if I work with a whole load of dead people – trust me, its like come in, get to desk, work, 12 noon, lunch, back to desk, work, 17.30 home….wtf – conversation is scarce unless its work related… I don’t get it so for that reason, me and my CoP, will continue to get our own jokes with the other departments!!!!
Sheeeesh, aint life for the living???????

Anyway, Im gonna bounce before some next jobsworth cottons on to what I’m doing…

Keep your eyes on the blog for more features etc… coming soon!

Catch ya….
