Today is Michael Jackson’s birthday...he would have been 52!
Apparently, yesterday a special ‘This Is It’ birthday party took place outside his childhood home in Gary, Indiana.
As part of the celebrations, Michael’s father Joe was set to cut the cake in his honour and a tribute ‘Thriller’ dance was performed by a dance troupe.
A stage production entitled, ‘Yesterday, Today & Forever’ based on Michael’s life took place on Thursday – ahead of the birthday party.
Aaaaah, remembering Michael!
All we need now is for THAT doctor to be convicted....I guess in a strange kind of way, that would be the ultimate birthday present...some kind of justice!
Anyway, it is important to remember that birthdays are exactly that...the day we were birthed into this world.
Although he is no longer of this world...the fact that we had him, is something to be grateful for!
The music, the legacy and his spirit will live FOREVER!
Rest in PERFECT peace Michael Jackson!

Wow, I cannot believe it has been 9 years to the day since singer, actress, dancer & model Aaliyah (Haughton), departed the earth.
It shocked the world when aged only 22, news flashed across world that Aaliyah had tragically perished in an aeroplane crash which was returning back to the US after filming her music video for hit track, ‘Rock the Boat’.
In the following days, there was a lot of speculation as to the mental state of the pilot...questions circulated as to whether drug or alcohol misuse was a factor in his decision to take off with the plane so heavily loaded.
Many questions...but so few answers!
The fact remained, Aaliyah was gone!
I remember the moment I found out clearly...
I received a call from a close friend that was literally crying down the phone.
She had to repeat herself several times because I was unable to make head or tail out of what she was saying.
When the penny finally dropped...I was beyond shocked!
My mind raced...I wondered if the news had got it wrong...maybe the plane crashed but she survived and was in hospital or maybe, just maybe it was another one of those sick rumours!
No... none of the above!
Following her death, Aaliyah’s third studio album rose to number 1 on the Billboard 200.
‘Rock the Boat’ was released as a single and peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart...
It was emotional watching the video for the single...it seemed so unfair that such creativity resulted in a loss of life!
Speaking of videos, her acting career was on the up too!
After appearing in a few films including, ‘Romeo Must Die’ and ‘Queen of the Damned’, Aaliyah was ready to appear in several films including ‘Honey’ (Jessica Alba filled in).
Such a shame!
It’s so sad to look back and think what could have been...
I guess the only way to move forward is, to embrace the fact that we had her here on earth, even if only for a short time.
The amazing thing is, we can still appreciate those silky vocals laced with a hip hop edge and the great music videos she inspired us with.
I mean with Obesity on the increase...globally, is this really the sort of thing we should be getting excited about?
The Pizza-Burger has officially launched and is on sale at Burger King in New York NOW!! (Although allegedly, only for a short time)
This monstrosity is nine and a half inches which is the equivalent of 4 Whoppers put together!
It contains a ridiculous 2,500 calories and comes laden with Pepperoni and Mozarella.
Apparently, the burger is designed to share BUT...and here is a big BUT...there may well be people that will buy it and consume a whole one on their own.
For your information: consuming one of these Pizza-Burgers contains double the recommended daily allowance of salt and has in excess of 140g of fat!
Cast your mind back a little bit and see if your memory bank has the ability to forget nonsense...because I actually think mine has – I literally forgot about this ridiculous story...until now!!!
A couple of weeks back, Wendy Lewis age 32, allegedly decided to entertain herself by ‘having a wee wee’ on a war memorial!
That’s right...apparently, she couldn’t hold it!
Before I forget, let me mention...after relieving herself on the Cenotaph, she moved on to performing a sex act on a man nearby!
Maybe that’s why she couldn’t wait....
After being branded ‘Britain’s most disgusting person’ by war veterans, she was due to appear in a Blackpool Magistrates Court for sentencing last week (she was found guilty at an earlier hearing of outraging public decency) but decide to leave after only 20 mins...
Confused as to why???? Don’t worry, so am I!
Anyways, a warrant for her arrest was issued and she was ‘caught’ and detained on Tuesday night and will of course, return to court to be sentenced!
Nasty woman...
If she has such a passion for public urination and sex acts, maybe she could find a pimp that will take her on if she combines the 2 and sells herself as some sort of call girl/prostitute – she could make a mint, couldn’t she?.... just a thought (I do not endorse such behaviour really *lol*)
Anyway, enough on that little trollop...I’m off to do some more work – after all, that’s what I am paid for!
Well there’s a surprise [Not]... erratic Mercy singer, Shirlena Johnson faces the chop from the reality programme, The X Factor after...wait for it...allegedly, medics claimed she suffers from severe mental illness and is in fact a ticking time bomb (as described by a professional).
Personally, I don’t think mental illness is any laughing matter...
Having covered the subject on the chat show, I understand that many sufferers of mental illness can fly below the radar and go for many years before their illness shows up BUT...in this case, I think it was patently obvious something was not 100% right with Shirlena from the outset.
She took to the stage in a bizarre ensemble and proceeded to deliver her interpretation of Duffy’s classic, Mercy in a manner one can only describe as strange.
Not only was her the singing mortifying, her whole presence on stage made me feel a bit uneasy – to be honest.
This woman was not together!
Maybe it was the way she desperately declared she was a single mom of one daughter called Mariah, claimed she had been singing since age 18 and that she felt it was time to give her daughter the life she deserved or, maybe it was just something in her eyes...whatever it was, I think we all knew!
When Simon declared ‘It was like musical exorcism, I have to say I love you – you’re completely crazy, but I like that. You are fantastically nuts’ [sic], the crowd roared with approval but I don’t think Simon himself realised how close he had come to the truth – or maybe he did!
The irony is, in the following days, Shirlena herself admitted to a daily newspaper, that she believes she is a little bit nuts and is definitely possessed with something [sic]
Hmmmmmm....not good!
So, what happens next?
Do they quietly let Shirlena leave the programme and attempt to slip back into obscurity with help and guidance or do they let her carry on and risk sending her over the edge and subsequently losing her daughter?
She seems like a lovely lady that cares deeply for her daughter, so let’s hope she gets what she deserves.
A little part of me, wants to think the whole zany display on Saturday was just for show....I would like to believe that BUT somehow, I think she was for real.

We kicked off talking about a recent news article that questioned whether a headmasters decision to ban school girls from wearing tight black trousers to school, was just!
Although the trousers were full length and black (as outlined in the uniform criteria), it was claimed the trousers were unsuitable for school because they left a visible underwear line (VPL).
The general census was, yes – the headmaster was right to ban the trousers if they were deemed to be unsuitable for school.
We went on to ask whether people thought there was a need for school uniform...
Again, the overall response was yes, with most believing that the pros of having school uniform included:
-Children in school uniform tend to take school and their studies a little bit more serious
-School uniforms help to maintain a level of discipline
-There are less arguments and fights because uniform eradicates disputes over fashion
-Wearing school uniform offers a sense of belonging.
Judging by some of the messages we received, most people seemed to think that those that don’t wear uniform tend to focus less on their academics as they are too busy worrying about who has the latest trainers or jeans.
It was also suggested, most school pupils would not know how to dress appropriately to go to school, so having uniform makes life easier all round.
In the second half of the show, we moved on to discuss fashion trends and whether what we wear is controlled by the media.
We talked about the fact that there are some people that are slaves to fashion and literally have to have the latest everything because it was either worn by a celeb or recommended as a must have in one of the weekly glossy mags!
We wanted to know how much influence the media actually has...
To help us explore this, we were join by Fashion Guru, Ntiedo from www.mytailoredsuit.co.uk (check out the site, now, now, NOW)!
Ntiedo agreed with the fact that the media does influence what we wear but strongly advised us to be mindful of what actually suits us and not just run with what we think looks good.
Ntiedo also encouraged people to be individual in their style.
We all agreed that although there are some trends that you can’t resist... it pays to be a trendsetter.
Be confident and overall know what works well with you obviously taking into account, your size and shape etc...
After an interesting debate mixed in with a few choice tracks, we finished up with some motivational quotes, one of which was:

American Idol star, Fantasia Barrino knows that place too well because earlier this month she attempted suicide after being caught up in a messy divorce between her current squeeze and his soon to be ex-wife!
Fantasia openly admits she was seeing Antwaun Cook but was convinced he was single – she claims she knew nothing about his wife.
As a result of the alleged affair, she is being blamed for the break-up of the marriage.
Fantasia insists that having swallowed a mixture of aspirin and sleeping pills, she actually wanted to end it all and it was NOT a cry for help!
She has told VH1 (music channel) that she didn’t care about anything and she wanted out!
So sad...
Let’s hope Fantasia finds the strength she needs to come through the other side, stronger and wiser!
The halo on Ms Minaj’s head continues to grow....one would think anyways!
Pharrell ‘N.E.R.D’ Williams has officially hopped on the ‘We love Nicki Minaj’ bandwagon.
Pharrell has spoken out about Nicki’s success and believes her rise to fame has paved the way for more female artists to come through.
He was quoted to have said, ‘I think she reopened the door to hip hop for females’.
And as if having Pharrell on the team wasn’t enough, female rapper Eve has been speaking highly of Your Royal Nickiness too.
Eve claims that between herself, Nicki and Lauryn Hill, the doors to hip hop have been widened immensely!
There is no doubting Nicki is hot right now, with her quirky, unique sense of being...you can’t help but buy into the hype.
Her style is fresh, zany and entertaining all at the same time...
Oh sugar lumps...it's been a hot minute since we heard from Grammy Award winning singer, Faith Evans and now we have...it looks like she has been a naughty girl!
Apparently, Faith was arrested on Saturday night after being spot checked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The word is, 37 year old Faith was kept in police custody for a few hours and then released on Sunday.
It is alleged her car has been impounded! >> Not a good look...
I guess the moral of the story here is...Don’t Drink & Drive...Drink & Be Driven!!!

Although Kanye is reportedly single since his split with model Amber Rose (who taught him to be a nicer person) earlier on this year, he is serious about finding a woman he can settle down with, marry and have some kids.
He was quoted to have said; ‘My goal is life is to really have an amazing woman and have a family’.
So who knows, could we soon be seeing Kanye suited and booted ready to say his vows....

I cannot see a day when the stories of Michael Jackson’s life...cease!
The latest is...apparently Michael was a hypochondriac and feared he had cancer, brain tumours and suffered from heart attacks!
According to his aides, Michael did not suffer from any of the above but was delusional due to the affects of his addiction to prescriptive drugs.
Apparently, Michael would hide from the sun claiming it would irritate his vitiligo and at times he would be so cold he believed he was suffering from frostbite!
She has just recovered from a life threatening bout of Malaria and as a result, spent the last few months fretting over the fact that Nicole Scherzinger is blatantly sexier than her and threatens to end her X-Factor career with one swish of her hips... she is in the process of getting rid of old rubbish aka soon to-be ex husband Ashley Cole, her so called ‘new’ relationship with backing dancing, Derek Hough is being questioned aaaaaaaaaand one quarter of her former band, Girls Aloud has been sticking the knife in and twisting!
Does anyone actually care?
Personally, I don’t...I mean, I can’t help but remember the foul mouthed Chav-tastic, Cheryl Tweedy that penetrated our lives a good few years back.
Apart from abusing toilet attendants in clubs, there is not much else I remember Cheryl for!
Uhmmmm, oh yes, I do recall her attempt to mime her way through her hit ‘Fight For This Love’ which clearly pirated Kelis’ track ‘Little Star’ on X Factor...but after that, not much else!
At the risk of sounding like a hater, I would just like to say, I do like to give credit where credit is due but in this case, I really don’t think it is due *shrugs*
Although I am pleased she managed to battle Malaria and win (I wouldn’t wish illness on anyone), I do wonder when and how she managed to become the Nations sweetheart...[someone please advise]!
Oh well...I guess this will remain one of life’s little mysteries.
In the meantime, for those that do like/love Ms Cole, you will be pleased to know, she has returned to our screens, perched on the X Factor panel for the next few...so enjoy! *Bleuuuurgh*!

Nah, but seriously, my blog has been neglected but for many good reasons, none of which I intend to share at this precise moment in time (har har).
The last few months have been eventful.
I have of course been keeping up with the usual Saturday breakfast shows and chat shows!
Speaking of which, the chat show has now moved to the earlier and more convenient time (for myself) of 6pm on a Monday eve – fab!
The Saturday breakfast show is still from 9am-midday.

I intend for this post to be short but, I have to say, breakfast at the end of last month got real juicy!
