As you can probably tell, I am in a funny kind of a mood – its probably got a lot to do with the fact that its BLOODY freezing and its before 8am in the morning aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh – am I crazy? Am I?!
Ok, now we got that out of the way, what’s going down in the town we love to be in….Celebville????
First off, Birdman - apparently, Birdman has been sued for breach of a contract. The contract in question relates to a concert due to be held in November billed as ‘Lil Wayne, Birdman & Friends’!
Birdman allegedly received an advanced payment but then turned around and claimed there was not enough time to promote and get in the acts as well as the fact the weather in New Orleans would be too cold!!!! Too cold??? Hello…..End of November spells winter in my mind – I mean my question is, why agree to do it knowing the date initially then come off with such a rubbish excuse???????? Sheeeeeesh!
Anyhoo, he cancelled the concert and rescheduled it to a date in January (still winter no?).
That concert date was cancelled too….this time, they only used the excuse there was not enough time to promote and secure a line up!
Sorry to nit pick but, why reschedule to a date, not even 2 months later, still in the Winter etc etc…..when you know, or have an idea, it ain't gonna work. Why o why? The thought process of some definitely leaves a lot to be desired!!!
The concert was then rescheduled to a date in March and the dood from the concert promotion company, continued to transfer money in a bid to secure the gig – but guess what????
Yup, you got it – it was cancelled for a third time and this time, no new date was suggested!
Can you blame the promoter for suing? I cant, I mean forget the cancellation part, my guy had this dood running round like a headless chicken! That in itself is grounds enough to sue in my opinion – cacacacacaacaca
Lil Wayne on the other hand, probably isn’t too fussed right now. Why? Well he was only the
‘big’ winner at the BET Hip Hop Awards. He took away, Lyricist of the Year and MVP of the Year – oooooooooooooo!
He was in fact nominated for a staggering 12 awards but picked up the above, plus he was named Alltel Wireless People’s Champ!
At the ceremony, he also made an announcement that he was expecting a baby son, so I guess, the awards were the icing on an already, sweet tasting cake eh?
Speaking of icing and cake….Nelly has spoken to MTV news about a project that he is involved in.
Apparently, Nelly will soon become one quarter of a super group.
The quartet will allegedly be made up of, Nelly, Akon, Pharrell and Tpain.
(Hmmmmmmmm, right now I am trying to imagine the sound).
Nelly has been quoted to have said’ We’ve got a host of things we’re trying to do – probably put together this new 2009 BBD type of thing’.
So, you heard it hear first…Nelly, Pharrell Tpain and Akon – what an interesting combo – dontcha tink????
And keeping with the whole, ‘interesting combo’ thang….50 cent has secured a part in the English remake of ‘13 Tzameti’ – a French film which won a prize at the 2006 Sundance film festival.
The film itself will be shot in and around New York around mid November.
If that’s not enough by way of movies for ole Fiddy, he has also landed a role in a new movie ‘Dead Man Running’.
Fiddy will be co-starring alongside home grown talent, Danny Dyer (think Football Factory).
The plot revolves around a gangster that has 24 hours to payback a debt or he loses his life! Nice –lol
From movies to movies, Will.I.Am is not only the voice of a new character called Moto Moto in
the latest instalment of Madagascar; he has also been working alongside Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer to create the complete soundtrack too!
The soundtrack will contain 17 tracks which include the four songs Hans and Will have been working on.
Also on the album will be, various instrumentals written by the duo specifically for the movie.
Sounds like fun…..I must admit, I do like a DreamWorks production so yes….I will be looking out for this movie? Will you??? Don’t front – admit it – its all good! Lol

The track ‘Hush’ is available on iTunes and a portion of the proceeds will go to Usher’s New Look Foundation, so it’s a double whammy really – get a new tune and help a cause, sounds like a plan – go get it!
Beyonce has confessed to enjoying preparing for the role of Etta James than when she prepared for her character in Dreamgirls.
She has been quoted to have said, ‘I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role. It was easier and tastier than having to lose so much weight for dreamgirls’. (Believe me, I can relate tee hee).

Naturally, Beyonce has attempted to justify the new name.
She has said ‘I have someone else that takes over when its time for me to work….Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out’.

When asked if she ever had second thoughts about her hubby Nick Cannon being 10 years younger than her, she admitted initially she did but his maturity and intelligence allows her to over see that.
She went on to say, ‘I’ve been with someone older and that could be a disaster or maybe you have to throw that side away and don’t think about it – think about who is right for you’.
You know what peeps, she has a point – too often we worry about what other people will think rather than satisfy ourselves. If it feels good to you, chances are, it is good for you.
Not only does MC have words of wisdom, she also has a good heart.
She launched a challenge for fans to design a luscious pink dress in celebration of her new fragrance.
The winning design will be produced 3 times only!
One for MC herself, one for the winner and the third will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure which is an organisation that has already helped to save so many women with constant funds and continual research into breast cancer and awareness.
Me ole mate Mijac (Michael Jackson in short), has been out and about lately.
Only this time, Mr Jackson has been seen looking a picture of health and in fact, did not shy away from the cameras when spotted in Hollywood last week.
As we all know, Mijac celebrated his 50th birthday this year, maybe that has something to do with it – new lease of life and that – you know what they say….. Life now begins at 50!

Eminem has announced the name of his upcoming album. It will be entitled ‘Relapse’ and the first single off the album is, ‘I’m having a relapse’!!!!
As previously reported, the album should be available before the end of the year.
Not only is Em celebrating that, he is also teaming up with Nike to create ‘Eminem custom Jordan trainers’.
Em will customise the Jordan 2 trainer with various colours etc...
If you are interested in ‘copping’ a pair, you need to act real quick as there will only be 313 of the trainers made available which pays homage to Detroit in that the area code is 313.
The proceeds from the trainers will go to Eminem’s non profit charity that helps disadvantaged youth - ‘The Marshall Mathers Foundation’.
If that hasn’t got you wanting a pair – this might seal the deal….each pair comes with handwritten lyrics form various Eminem songs!!

Taking the vibe down just a lil – I wanna take a minute for soul singer Dee Dee Warwick, sister of Dionne Warwick and cousin to Whitney Houston.
Sadly, Dionne Passed last week at a nursing home in New Jersey. She was only 63!
Her musical career was colourful and began in the late 1950s when she and Dionne performed as the Gospelaires and also collaborated with a gospel group that was managed by their mother called the Drinkard Singers. She sang back up for Aretha Franklin and others before deciding it was high time to launch into a solo career of her own.
She was twice nominated for Grammy Awards and was best known for hits such as, ‘Foolish Fool’ and ‘I’m Gonna Make You Love Me’.
She recently sang backing vocals for her sisters show ‘My Music & Me’ and also performed on the title song on Dionne Warwick’s gospel album ‘Why We Sing’, which was released in January this year!
Once again another sad, sad loss.
My sincerest, heartfelt condolences go out to the Warwick family and of course the extended family and I pray God will continue to help them through this difficult time.
At this point, I would also like to extend my sympathies to Jennifer Hudson and her family as
they try to make sense of what can only be described as the senseless slaying of Jennifer’s mother and brother.
The events leading up to the murder and the motives are yet to be confirmed although it seems, the nephew’s body has also been found – heart wrenching!
You know, words fail me – I cannot begin to express my sorrow at what is in fact reality.
Once again, at times like these, God is all you need.

Finally, a story that caught my eye earlier this week actually made me chuckle, then I felt bad.
A man was deemed to ‘ugly’ to find a job! (That was the bit I laughed – when I found out why it wasn’t funny).
This guy has an incurable hereditary skin condition called ‘Neurofibromatosis’ which leaves the sufferer with hundred of benign (non cancerous) tumours all over the face and body!
The guy from York, UK has said ‘People see me and are scared of catching
something even though its not infections’.
Its deep man!
The charity, Changing Faces has advised we should not make judgements based on what we see.
So people (I am included), when you have a spot or some kind of skin irritation, bare in mind this guy who cannot run out and grab some Clearasil or ‘Oxycute’ the spots, has to live like this daily!
Be grateful for what you have and make the best of what you have got – can I get an Amen?

A bit of a roller coaster blog today, sorrow and happiness all in one – such is life – harsh as it seems.
I think we all need to be thankful for every day that is given to us because, as
corny as it may sound - tomorrow is NEVER guaranteed!
When you wake in the morning, give thanks – not only will it show appreciation, it also puts you in good stead for the day ahead.
